Ok, I know one is not supposed to make fun of people's ailments but, actually, the opening line was just too funny to pass up.
Imran operated upon to remove intestinal obstruction

ISLAMABAD: Severe pain in Imran Khan’s intestine on Monday left the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf office-bearers and workers in shock.
For those who wonder why Imran has become is such a tight-ass, the reason is now obvious. It's the PTI groupies that are the main obstruction.
To each his own, I suppose Jman.
ReplyDeleteIf I wanted to vote for someone with views indistinguishable from Imran Khan's, I think I would opt for the real thing ie the Jamaat-e-Islami. At least Munawar Hasan's beard is there for all to see on his face rather than hidden in his heart.
Plus any party that has a leader who has probably never heard or cracked a joke in his earnest life and has both Shireen Mazari and Roedad Khan as prominent sidekicks is definitely not my cup of tea.
this should win an award for best blog post title ever.
ReplyDeletehahahahaha!!! I totally agree with Rabia!
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised. The PTI has always been an Imran Khan fan club. Seriously, can anyone name a single other prominent PTI politician? As someone above mentioned, the only other public figures that come to mind are Shireen Mazari and Roedad Khan. When Dr. Mazari is a prominent party leader, you know you're in trouble.
ReplyDeleteHeh.
ReplyDeleteFirstly I don't think one should make fun of anyone's ailment. Its a faux paus in most cultures...
ReplyDeleteRegarding or the lack of (in)famous politicians in PTI's ranks... I think , most of us would not have liked it if a (in)famous politicians like Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Mustafa Khar had joined PTI :)
Also, upon checking out the national and international leadership profiles of PTI at their website (which is a great place to start it as the national media finds it more better for their ad revenue to invite IK rather than other party members):
http://www.insaf.pk/AboutUs/Leadership/tabid/141/Default.aspx
one will notice that PTI members are mostly peopole like us... people who have day jobs (and hence are not 'professional' money-making politicians) and who work day and night as volunteers to help the party establish its presence in both rural and urban areas of Pakistan.
I might be wrong but I honestly believe that poking fun (dare I say: cheap fun) at IK for his ailment or criticising the party ofor lack of famous politicians will do nothing to help the party or Pakistan...
IMHO in-depth, serious discussion on the flaws of PTI's policies, strategies, standpoints, tactics etc etc would be of huge benefit to the party in question and the nation.
And btw, I checked out few posts here. I like Cafe Payala and hope to come here more often..
ReplyDeletePlus, sorry for all the spelling mistakes :).
