Is A Modicum of Sanity Too Much Too Ask from Geo?

Is this absurd or what?

Hamid Mir in Geo's Capital Talk today (11 Feb) takes expert advice on water issues between Pakistan and India from Syed Salahuddin, Supreme Commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen and head of the Muttaheda (United) Jihad Council...

What's next? Lashkar-e-Taiba's Hafiz Saeed giving his expert opinion on tourism opportunities in Mumbai? Jaish-e-Mohammad's Azhar Masood reviewing Air India's inflight entertainment? Dawood Ibrahim analysing trends on the Bombay Stock Exchange?

  1. Watch out for: Bal Thackeray as commentator on Star Sports on the Pakistan-England T20 matches, Narinder Modi as a compere on an NDTV documentary on Muslim holy sites in Gujarat and Colonel Purohit on Sony TV on the trains of India

Syed Salahudin was a former-MLA candidate who strangely took up the gun simply becoz election was rigged by National Conference. He is simply not on the same blood thirsty mindless blood-bath game of Hafiz Sayeed ilks. If he is released from ISI custody to India..I am sure he will join peaceful separatist movement in J&K.Hizbul-Mujahadeen militants were forced by ISI to give logistics support to LeT/JeM..who were rivals..at times Hizbul Mujahadeen fought alongside with Indian forces against Jaish-e-Mohmmad who were indiscriminately killing civilians.

I think we anti-fundos make no distinctions between these guys. And that ends up being counter-productive.

  5. @Anon610: Yeah, that would be funny except that this was Pakistani Geo that did this.

@Anon_for_a_good_reason: Let's not forget, however, the following bit of his history either:

"While studying Political Science at University of Kashmir, he started to become influenced by the Jamaat-e-Islami, and become a member of its branch in the Kashmir Valley. At University, he got involved in persuading Muslim women to veil themselves…"

@sahaafi_braadri: I don't believe in lumping them without distinction either. But I think the point CPM was trying to make was the absolute irrelevance of the man to the topic being discussed.

Not to mention that either Geo, or more likely Hamid Mir is completely out of their gourd.

Seriously, this is an insane act by Hamid Mir.
